Our Commitment to Accessible Healthcare
The Thrikkakara Municipal Co-operative Hospital, situated at Kakkanad, adjoining the District Collectorate was established by the Thrikkakara Municipal Co-operative Hospital Society Ltd in 1999, as a project under the People’s Planning Programme of the Government of Kerala. In the last twenty years the Hospital has developed into a medium sized establishment in the Cooperative Healthcare sector and is currently the prime institution in Thrikkakara for the common people. This is the only facility affordable to all sections of the society in Kakkanad, which has become the city centre housing the district administration and several other major public and private establishments. The hospital has facilities for round the clock Casualty, Laboratories, CT/Ultra Sound scan, Pharmacy, All medical departments, Ayurveda clinic, Executive health check-upprogram, Palliative care, Modern ambulance facilities, General wards, AC and non-AC rooms for inpatients. The Management of the Hospital is taking special care to maintain the cost of treatment much below the charges levied in other neighbouring commercial hospitals.
The hospital have 190 employees which includes 30 doctors and 160 paramedical staff with full-fledged Departments and Specialties. On an average around 600-700 outpatients register every day and most of them are those from other weaker sections of the society
In addition to the routine functions of the hospital, we regularly conduct free Medical Camps, and public health related awareness programmes, Immunization programmes etc. regularly and also undertake and support all Government’s initiatives and programs devoted to public healthcare. The Hospital is managed by a President and Board of Directors elected from its membership community as per the regulations under the Kerala Co-operative Societies Act,1969 and its later amendments.
